On November 24th, 2016, the "Law on Marine Law and Politics" was held. The Haifa Institute invited the Vice President of the Cross-Strait Exchange Vision Foundation, Lin Tinghui, to give a speech at the school, entitled "After Arbitration: Challenges and Opportunities for Taiwan's South China Sea Policy in the Future" . Deputy Chief Executive Lin Tinghui said: "Taiwan's South China Sea policy has many forces pulling, and adopting policies such as self-restraint, singleness, and too clear is not the best policy." Deputy Executive Lin further said: "Taiwan must be smart in the South China Sea. There is a strong negotiating team to find contradictions from various forces in China, the United States, and Southeast Asia. Second, to understand what Taiwan wants, what can be given to others, and what can be given, it is necessary to create what can be given; Don't be too high-spirited, you must seek truth from facts. If you benefit, you must accept it if you are good. Otherwise, you will fall into the competition between China and the United States, and you will lose both ends."
